Do you remember Ai, my old friend from when I was at college?
Sure. I remember her. You two have been writing letters for years. You talk about her all the time.
Right. Well, she moved to a farm outside town near here and she invited all of us to visit her next month.
A farm! That would be wonderful for the kids. And I’m sure you would be happy to see her again. Didn’t she marry?
Yes, she married a nice man about a year ago. She says she has cows, sheep, chickens, some horses, a field full of potatoes and some apple trees. The kids would love it.
They’ve never been to a farm. They could learn many things. They think milk comes from a box in the supermarket, not from a cow.
But I thought she was a city girl. Why did she move to a firm?
I was surprised, too. She used to love the city. She says she decided the city was too dirty and there was too much noise. Now she loves the country.
Well, visiting her sounds like a wonderful idea. Let’s go tell the kids.
